Family Friendly Rights
There a number of statutory employment rights that come under the banner of 'family friendly'. These are generally rights associated with paid and unpaid time off work, for employees to deal with matters relating to dependants, children, parents, spouse etc., or where an employee may be caring for someone.
These rights are set out in legislation and as employers; you cannot ignore them or try to 'contract-out' of them.
The key entitlements are:
- Maternity Leave
- Paternity Leave
- Ordinary Parental Leave
- Shared Parental Leave
- Adoption Leave
- Flexible Working Requests
- Dependant Care Leave
